What's Catching My Eye ::Washi::

Love, love, l.o.v.e. my washi tapes.  When washi tapes started showing up all over I honestly loved them but had no idea how I could use them.  I bought a few and just loved looking at them.  The colors and the patterns, I love it all.  I've now realized so many uses for washi tape and love finding new ways to use them.  

Here are some ideas:

• Border a picture or journaling tag
• "Tape" a picture to a layout 
• Use different layers of tape on embellishments to give them a whole new look

These are just a few uses and there are plenty more but hopefully this gets you in the right direction for some inspiration.  Let me know if you have any other ideas you use or would like to.

A Little Piece of Paradise

I'm so unbelievably happy to say that we are booked and going to Islamorada, Florida Keys baby!  My happy place, my one place in the world where everything is p.e.r.f.e.c.t. yes I know I haven't been that far but I don't need to be, I love the Keys.  Just a little glimpse of where I'll be spending a great vacation with my hubby and wonderful parents, brothers, auntie, grandparents and aunt and uncle and my two adorable little cousins.  Couldn't be more excited for this next chapter in Islamorada, FL

Very excited for some new memories and of course, plenty of photos and layouts to come from this trip!

Finally, my chair!

Um, hello?!  Do you see this amazing chair?  I've been wanting this chair for three years now and have been collecting Pier 1 gift cards since I spotted it.  I've been hoarding them here and spending some there.  So last Sunday my parents and little brother randomly came up for the day and my dad said "go with your mother, you're getting the chair."  So long story short and after a mini anxiety attack in Pier1 from excitement and thinking I lost a gift card (I'm crazy, I didn't lose any) I got my chair.  It was a scary ride home with the chair hanging out of the trunk.  I can tell you the chair was going nowhere but at the time I was freaking out a little.  Happy that this perfect accent chair now sits proudly in our living room and I added the perfect pottery barn pillow and love the mix of patterns.

Another lovely item I just picked up are these amazing wine glasses.  I honestly have 4 wine glasses and one the stem is glued together with super glue.  I mean, honestly, I think it was time for some wine glasses.  I'm happy to say I now own these and they really are beautiful!

A Little Peak

So I have a few little peaks for you with what's been going on in my life.  Don't get too excited, just day to day stuff.  As you know, I have the best parents ever and the most talented dad.  Lucky for me, they spent two weekends in a row to build me a brand new scraproom in our basement.  I'm lucky enough to have the best husband who totally gets me and knows how much a nice clean and organized office space would mean to me.  So I finally got things in their places and all that I'm waiting for now is doors on the bottom cabinets and I'm sorry, I just don't want to show it all until it's truly complete.  I'm getting a new desk as well and looking for the perfect chair (of course something cute, but hopefully comfy as well that's important right?!)  




So here's a little peak at a section of my built in bookcase.  I ended up splurging and getting these amazing paper sorters for all my paper.  The trays are by Display Dynamics, and they are perfect.  I feel like I have my own little store in my room!  I have added more paper since I took this picture but this gives you a general idea.  I have three rows of bookshelves and the trays don't fit perfectly, there is still room on both sides so I added these vases (Hobby Lobby) & flowers (Pottery Barn) to fill in the gaps.  They work for now but we'll see if I find anything else to change it up as I go along.

CHA 2013 Winter Challenge

So today I sat down in my scraproom and said today I'm going to make a layout and love it...I haven't felt very inspired or creative so I've just been working on my project life album which I'll share with you soon as I just finished week 2.  So without anymore of my ranting, I'm finally showing you a layout and promise I'll do better to keep up with my postings, fair?!

::What's Catching My Eye:: Wood Veneers

Can I start with, thank God for Friday!  It was a short week and it still felt like forever.  I'm still getting caught up on sleep from the holidays and am looking forward to a weekend full of relaxing, scrapbooking and my first Project Life* album. 

So onto ::what's catching my eye:: right now...

I am definitely loving wood veneers lately. I have to admit when I first started to see them I thought, "what would I ever do with those? They'll look so out of place on my pages..." Clearly I was WAY wrong and I'm so happy I was. These little texturized wood bits are by far my favorite little punch to a page, project life, anything. I love that they are coming out with all different shapes now and there always seems to be something new. here a few of my favorites right now that I'm adding to my collection. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!  I'm glad to say we made it 2013, HA Mayans!  I thought I would finish up my Christmas pages I've been doing and get them up here.  So...without more of my rambling, here is another layout.
