Our Walks

I know, another layout with my Tucker, same walk too but I loved the pop of red from his leash and wanted to go with that color scheme again.  I am trying to use a lot of my products instead of buying and then just letting them sit there so I used the same triangle paper I loved from the Studio Calico Sandlot kit too.

I know this one looks a little busy but that's why I kept the embellishing minimal and used lots of patterned paper.  The silk screen was a fun part along with the big bold red title, all fun items from the August Sandlot Scrapbook Kit and September Whitman Add On.

I created more dimension by distressing the edges with my fingernails so the items popped up.  I adhered the title with my roller adhesive but only where the letters were red so it didn't really show.

I added the silk screen with pop dots.  I used the color theory Mint acrylic paint and loved how it came out.  You can see more details on using the Silk Screen here.

Adventure

I love being back home and hanging out with our family pup, Tucker, I miss that little guy everyday.

You would think we go on nice easy walks but nope, he pretty much refuses to walk and just wants to run.  However, I like the exercise so I go for it.  We are both exhausted after we're done but trust me he is in heaven, happier than can be.  He should know by now that I'm going to document our "walk"

The awesome cut files for Studio Calico by Hello Forever.  I added some floral paper with the reds.  I love Silhouette Cuts but I find myself being lazy a lot and not using it as much as I should.  I'm going to try to use it more since I do really love it.

Just Keep Swimming

I used the awesome My Mind's Eye vellum from their Necessities Collection .  It's hard to capture the amazing gold but you can see it a little shining in some of the pictures.

I stitched the vellum on top of a white piece of card stock so you could see the gold dots pop.  I kept photos down towards the bottom of the page, I really wanted those gold dots to take up a large space.

Here you can see the gold reflecting in in the light really well, this vellum is amazing.  I added messy stitching, some stickers and of course a gold Studio Calico Atlantic gold star.

I love brads and this "just keep swimming" sticker couldn't have been more perfect for a pool layout.

Our Monster

I created this layout first with the Note and Things Collection and loved how it turned out.  I used a few other pieces from my stash but mostly it's Note and Things :)

There's something about the colors that just got me excited to work with this collection.  Our cat's name is Riggly and we tend to call him the Riggle Monster on most days when he is in what we call "crazy mode."  He's usually not ever on our table but i was sitting at the table and he needed to be near me so I enjoyed his company.

I love adding lots of messy stitching in random places on my layouts, one of my favorite ways to add texture.  That late ampersand from the Notes and Things was a perfect fit here.  The ribbon along the bottom, I never use ribbon, is from the Studio Calico Sandlot kit.  See more projects on my Studio Calico page if you'd like and check their gallery.

Video Start to Finish #2

I have made two videos now which is a lot harder than I thought because I really have to know where I'm going with a layout while recording.  Anyways, here is a layout I created during my last video.  I hope to get some more motivation to create another soon, it's coming.

I've still been using a lot of Crate Paper's Note and Things collection which I love but I promise I'll use different products for my next video :)

A little detail shot, I love all the dimension with the chipboard and that veneer arrow.

Mudroom

Our mudroom is pretty small when you walk in from our garage.  It was a blank space with nothing added.  Soon after we moved in my dad (a contractor, I'm a lucky girl) added this built in bench/coat hanging area for us.  I painted the built in white to match all of our trim throughout the house and to brighten the space.  I love white trim and how it makes spaces feel bigger. My mom helped me make the cushion which we bought fabric for and sewed it to fit the bench. There are three baskets on top of the built in as well and we put hats, scarfs, gloves, things like that to hide away. I added a small mirror on one wall and a wreath on our door. Now I still need to find the perfect light to replace the small boring light fixture that's currently in there. It's a small space but I love it.

Changes ahead...

So with this blog that I really do enjoy but have been lacking lately I decided maybe instead of focusing soley on scrapbooking I'll add in some life touches. I hope you'll stick around and enjoy what's to come. I'm still learning with how to use everything with making the site more pretty and will be looking at options, I like streamlined. So with that, stick around and I'll be adding in a glimpse of me and my everyday.

Us

Another 8 1/2 by 11 layout here with a single photo.  I kept this layout towards the bottom of the page and added a few embellishments along with a tone on tone title.

Some patterned paper, a few embellishments (that gold star from Studio Calico is my favorite) and some lovely wood veneer from Studio Calico, another favorite.

I've been falling in love with letter stickers again.  Adding that pop of brown/gray for the "Me and You" was a perfect addition and I love how they stick off the page as well.

Another view to see how the "US" die cut title pops off the page.  That adorable flair is from TwoPeas which is no longer available.  I'm still glad I'm using my supplies instead of hoarding even if there is only one in my stash.  It now has a home on this page and I love it.

The best pup

For this layout I didn't know where I was starting, just that it was going to be an 8 1/2 by 11 layout, my new favorite size.  I chose white card stock as my base as I pretty much always do and printed off two photos of our family pup, Tucker.  I'm trying to use up my supplies that I bought and then forgot about, like the rub ons from Studio Calico.  I used the woodgrain rub on and decided to frame it up into a bunch of slide frames from Crate Paper.  I absolutely loved the idea of breaking up one item into several different frames.  I then added a bold patterned paper down the right side where the frames would be.  Although the paper is bold and the woodgrain rub on is bold as well I don't feel it gets lost, I love the pop from each of the elements.  Here's a look at the overall layout:

I believe the cut files were from TwoPeas which is no longer in business (insert very sad face here) but Wilna Furstenberg has plenty of similar designs in her shop still.  I used watercolors and adhered them with hot glue so they would keep the dimension I wanted.

A closer look to see the woodgrain that I rubbed onto vellum for a soft look.  The adorable little flair was also a TwoPeas exclusive.  Seriously I don't know how I'm still going on without TwoPeas, I have no idea what website to use still for all my scrappy goodies.  I'm usually on Studio Calico's website for inspiration but the shop is limited there and I loved the setup of TwoPeas, all suggestions would be great!  Anyways....

Thanks for stopping by, hope you're feeling inspired!

Go ahead...explore.

I know I haven't been here in awhile...I'm back now and here to share some layouts.  I recently took on an 8 1/2 by 11 page and absolutely loved it!  I have been on a roll the past few days with this new size.  I think I needed something to change it up and spark my interest again.

I used the lovely cut files from Wilna furstenberg and watercolored them to my heart's content.

A closer look at the dimension with some vellum layers, book paper and of course, awesome snorkeling photos.

Tucker Tucker

I was completely inspired by Corrie Jones, 213 in 2013 video from Two Peas In A Bucket and took a try at it.  Here's my layout...

The full layout.  A patterned strip down the center to ground the photos and a few embellishments.

A view to see the dimension from the veneer and stitching of my title.

Tucker

A collage isn't something I normally put together but I loved it thanks to inspiration from Kristina Nicolai-White I decided to give it a try.

Little layers of patterned paper, a few enamel dots and buttons, and a simple tag.

Another view...you can see the messy stitching I added along the left side too for some added texture.

Paradise in Aruba

For this layout I was completely inspired by Corrie Jones.  I absolutely love the large photo idea and the negative space of the title.  Here's my take!

I used the lovely Kraft and Gold Background paper for that sand feel.  I die cut the title with my Cameo and added paper underneath that I watercolored in random places in blues, greens and yellows.

A close up of my cluster of embellies, brad, resin flower, enamel dot and gold tipped leaves.

Islamorada

More fun bright colors and lots of little embellishments on this layout, yet again, from a vacation last year.  Amy Tangerine's Plus One Collection was perfect for this page!

Lots of fun bits, enamel dots, badges, patterned paper, vellum, veneer.  I had fun with all the layers here.

Another peak to get a feel for all the dimension created on this layout.

Thanks for stopping by!

Love

I had fun using some scraps and some lovely Dear Lizzy vellum I've been hoarding.  Tropical vacations with palm trees just scream bright fun colors right!?

I kept the embellishing to a minimum as I used more patterned paper on this layout.

A view of the dimension created.  Love the Amy Tangerine thickers from Plus One!

This moment

I've been holding onto these pictures for too long and I'm happy I'm getting them scrapped.  I really like including multiple photos on a page and this layout does just that.  I die cut the "this" part of my title and played with watercolors, always fun.

A full view of the layout.  I used a transparency I have been hoarding as my base under my photos.

More dimension with layers, veneer, enamel dots and stickers.

Hello Adventure

I really do love grid layouts and being able to layer and treat each square as it's own little mini spot to embellish.  I tried to keep this one more simple with the embellishments.

A full look at the layout here.  I used the awesome Dear Lizzy paper for my background and then a few scraps from my stash for all the squares.

A closer look to see the dimension created with enamel dots and the middle square that used pop dots for the plane sticker.  You can also see the little circle veneer that I framed the globe sticker with.  I used a teal dauber to color the veneer.

I could get used to this life

I finally went on a little scrapping spree and got some layouts done from a vacation earlier last year which makes me happy so today I'm sharing one.

I've never been a big fan of yellow but decided to make it work and I like the result.  I die cut the title with my cameo in white cardstock and used watercolors to make the title yellow.

I used a black pen to outline the title in a dot "stitch" look and love how it makes the title pop!

Another watercolor heart cut with my cameo and some enamel dots for dimension.

Hello love

I never use kraft cardstock for my background but something urged me to give it a try (I literally had two pieces of kraft in my stash.)  I wanted to play around with the blacks, aquas and lime colors I love so that's just what I did here.

Lots of scraps here from my stash to create some visual interest and three smaller photos along the right side of the layout.

I can't stay away from my enamel dots, love them!  I also used the love cut file from Studio Calico's sugar rush digital files.

Some more looks at the layers, a little pop of a tag, enamel dots and a resin flower.

Merry Day

I decided to do a grid layout type design for this layout as I wanted to use multiple pieces of scrap paper and some transparencies.  I love the way it turned it out.

Here is the full layout...lots of Studio Calico Magical goodies.

I did some embossing in the lines of the patterned paper with gold glitter zing.  The stamp is from Ali Edwards by Technique Tuesday, last years December Daily Stamp Set.

Another view, you can really see that gold shine...love that!

Believe

I took the time to scrap a wedding photo of ours that I just love.  No we have nothing to do with the fire hydrant it just makes a great pop of color and an awesome photo prop...just fun.  I know the word believe can come across as a Christmas word but I'm using it here to believe in, well you guessed, a happy life starting with a wedding....don't I sound sappy??

The full layout, pops of red with black and white, love the combo. I used some Freckled Fawn black and white airmail washi tape and just love it.  I kept this layout pretty simple with embellishments, a tag and a brad, as the Printshop paper adds a busy background.

A little closeup of my die cut with the wood veneer hearts to dot the "i"

I circled the sentence "Look at us now, so happy together" in the Printshop paper by Studio Calico...it seemed so perfect!
