A Little Update...

I just wanted to give everyone a little update so you don't think I fell off the face of the earth.  I'm going to try and get a layout or something done tonight to share with you all but no promises.  I hate when I can't take a good picture of my project because it's dark out and yes, natural lighting makes a huge difference as I'm sure you all know.  I'll be leaving for the Florida Keys this weekend and have my best friend's wedding shower this Saturday (she'll be flying in tomorrow) before I go so yes, busy busy.  I promise to have a lot to show you once I'm back from vacation.  I think everyone can tell I love scrapping beach photos and memories, who doesn't?! 

So since I don't have anything to share today I thought I'd let you know what's currently catching my eye.  Well I'm super excited that the new Yes, Please line by Amy Tangerine (American Crafts) is currently on it's way to me so I'll have lots of fun with that when I get back from my trip.  I'll be sad when my vacation has to end but at least I'll be coming home to lots of scrapping goodies. 

Also, right now I'm really into all the difference letter/alphabet stickers out there right now.  For at least the past year I have been so into using my Cameo for all my titles and completely ignoring my letter stickers.  Now, I have a letter problem and I'm hoarding them and can't wait to use them in the mini I plan on making from my trip.  This latest video from Garden Girl, Kristina Nicolai-White, at Two Peas has me even more excited.  I will have everything she used for her mini and I can't wait to start mine!

Has anyone else stopped using something because of your die cut machine, specifically the Cameo??  I'm excited to get back into using my letter stickers!

Aruba Water View

I did, yes, another layout from Aruba, that I enjoyed.  I love scrapping beach pictures, pretty sure I've already said that before. The enamel dots I used were from the Studio Calico Front Row Kit and the washi tape bordered the picture.

Here's the full layout featuring a large picture of the ocean in Aruba.  I used lots of labels, labels, cutouts, more labels and label stickers all along the left side along with my journaling. 

Used the Studio Calico wood veneers that I love so much.

Here's an angled view so you can see the dimension.  I didn't stick the labels down all the way to create depth.

Does anyone else have a certain type of picture that you love to scrap over and over??  I love my beach theme!

Life Is Good

Aruba love..

I love scrapping vacation photos, in this case our honeymoon.  The bright colors and blues and greens, so fun.  I had fun adding all the little embellishments from some of the new lines that are in the Two Peas store.

Here's a full shot of the layout using background paper from the new Sundrifter collection by Studio Calico.  The washi is from the Studio Calico, Front Row kit.

Love using different embellishments like brads, veneers, glitter stickers, and die cut shapes.

This view shows the dimension a little better by being angled. 

The little banners and "you are my sunshine" are from the Sundrifter Die Cut stickers.

Another view to show the dimension and the borders added to the right side of the layout.  I cut the scalloped blue border with my Silhouette.

This Beautiful World

I created this layout and kept with the neutral palette.  I enjoyed keeping it simple and using a few embellishments and the starburst design to draw attention to the photos.

Here's the full layout used with Studio Calico background paper.

I added a few stamped arrows for some interest.

I added the wood veneer stars, enamel dot, stamped arrow, and a geo brad. 

I stamped an Evalicious love stamp and added a couple enamel dots for some extra color and dimension.

Watercolor...I love art.

So as you know, I took Wilna's Art Class Workshop at Two Peas....a.m.a.z.i.n.g. is all I can say.  The techniques that I never would have thought of are now at my fingertips.  I created this latest layout using watercolors and had a lot of fun with it.  

This is how the process started.  I used my watercolors by dripping them onto white cardstock then using a straw to blow air directly onto the paint to make it spread.

I then used my Zap Heat Gun to quickly dry the page.  The colors really pop once they are dry, love it.

Here's the full layout. I used watercolors, black glitter embossing, washi, a silhouette cut, and some letter stickers.

 I used Crayola Watercolor paints for $3 (you can get them anywhere)  I also used the little arrows from Ali Edwards December Daily Stamp set with Black Glitter Embossing Powder.

Close up of the stars and the watercolors.  I simply cut star shapes out with my Silhouette Cameo and wrapped the stars in washi tape of my color choice.

Valentine's

So I'm not the biggest Valentine girl, are you?  I like it, it's cute but I'm not going to go too crazy about it.  I did find this cute free download for a card from Studio Pebbles that I made for my hubby. 

Nothing crazy, just a simple card.  I placed vellum behind the print for a soft touch on top of the cardstock.

We call eachother clown, don't ask, it's a cute thing.  But this was nice, I added my own inside.  I stitched lines on a piece of vellum, and printed my words on cardstock then cut them up for a more "creative" look.  I added washi to help hold down the vellum (along with glue dots) and to give a pop of color.
