Merry Day

I decided to do a grid layout type design for this layout as I wanted to use multiple pieces of scrap paper and some transparencies.  I love the way it turned it out.

Here is the full layout...lots of Studio Calico Magical goodies.

I did some embossing in the lines of the patterned paper with gold glitter zing.  The stamp is from Ali Edwards by Technique Tuesday, last years December Daily Stamp Set.

Another view, you can really see that gold shine...love that!

Believe

I took the time to scrap a wedding photo of ours that I just love.  No we have nothing to do with the fire hydrant it just makes a great pop of color and an awesome photo prop...just fun.  I know the word believe can come across as a Christmas word but I'm using it here to believe in, well you guessed, a happy life starting with a wedding....don't I sound sappy??

The full layout, pops of red with black and white, love the combo. I used some Freckled Fawn black and white airmail washi tape and just love it.  I kept this layout pretty simple with embellishments, a tag and a brad, as the Printshop paper adds a busy background.

A little closeup of my die cut with the wood veneer hearts to dot the "i"

I circled the sentence "Look at us now, so happy together" in the Printshop paper by Studio Calico...it seemed so perfect!

Fall

Grids always pop out to me so I thought I would give one a go.  I used lots of color here against a white background.  The hubby and I went for a walk in fall and this layout captures all of the pictures I took.

I tried to keep each square in the grid monochromatic which also made it a little more exciting.

You can also see that I used a total of five pieces of white cardstock that I water-colored.  That was also fun, I love getting out the artsy supplies!

Another view to see the dimension created by some of the embellishments.

Home

I've been in a rut lately but have a layout here and there that I get done.  Nothing is seeming to come together or I can't figure out where to start.  I have so many pretty papers I love but for some reason I can't figure out the embellishing.  I'm having a hard start figuring out what I'm supposed to use and feel like I have nothing when I truly have a lot...

I kept this layout pretty simple with lots of white and touches of aqua and silver.

Silver metallic ink was used for the Ali Edwards Stamp.  I added a little October Afternoon tidbit that matched my color scheme too.

A little cluster of a badge, tag and two hand cut heart shapes that I inked with Prima Chalk.

Some beautiful silver glitter thickers with a stamp by Ali Edwards.  I also added little enamel dots in with the ink splatters of October Afternoon Sprinklers.

Workspace Wednesday

Oh I have been absent from here for a month now and I apologize for that. I've been in one of those scrappy ruts and I'm just wanting to stare at my supplies instead of use them. I have down a few layouts but it's literally dark by the time I get home from work at 5:30 and the weekends can get a little hectic, not enough time in the day. I promise to start sharing more soon and thank all of you that still stop by, it means a lot. As for today, I captured a quick peak into my workspace following along with Marcy Penner. Do you play along too?

Sunglasses

I was digging through old pictures at my parents house and came across this one which is one of my favorites.  I can remember pulling two chairs together in the driveway, out in the sun, with my awesome heart shaped glassesAhh the life...

This was a different color scheme for me but I enjoyed it.  I kept a neutral background with a white grid patterned paper.  Some simple embellishments, a tag with some twine, a few wood veneers, some enamel dots and mist.  Done!

I liked the idea of a title with capital and lowercase letters to bring out that playful feel.  Those letters from Jillibean Soup are some of my favorites.
